Dromech wishes to reduce debt

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN Spolka Akcyjna ("PKN ORLEN"), Central Europe's largest downstream oil company, announces today that on 14th August 2001 a Warsaw based BHT Dromech SA. (“Dromech”) initiated legal proceedings in Sad Rejonowy m.st. Warszawy XVII Wydzial Gospodarczy Upadlosciowy ul. Swietokrzyska 12 w Warszawie (”District Court in Warsaw”) which are expected to lead to an agreement on debt reduction with creditors.
