Technical service agreement with Shell Global Solutions

PKN ORLEN S.A. (“PKN ORLEN”), Central Europe’s largest downstream oil company, announces that on 22 January 2002 PKN ORLEN entered into a technical service agreement with SHELL Global Solutions International B.V. (“SHELL”) with its head office in the Hague (the Netherlands). The agreement is aimed at reducing maintenance costs and optimising plant utilisation periods. It is expected to bring profit of PLN 100m within the first three years and a profit of another PLN 100m in each successive year. The Agreement shall remain in force until the completion of the service or 1 August 2005.
