Anwil has purchased bonds issued by PKN ORLEN

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN Spolka Akcyjna ("PKN ORLEN") hereby announces that on 5 February 2008 its subsidiary, Zakłady Azotowe Anwil SA („Anwil”), purchased on the secondary market 300 bonds issued by PKN ORLEN, with a par value per bond amounting to 100,000 PLN (“Bonds”). The unit price of the Bond amounted to 99,761.50 PLN and the total price paid by Anwil for all Bonds amounted to 29,928,450 PLN.

The redemption of the bonds will take place on 21 February 2008 at their nominal value, amounting to 30,000,000 PLN. The yield on the bonds is based on market conditions.

The Bonds were purchased by Anwil in order to manage its short term liquidity. The Bonds were issued in compliance with the Law on Bonds dated 29 June 1995 (unified text: Journal of Laws, 2001 No 120, point 1300 with subsequent changes) in Polish zlotys, as bearer, dematerialized, unsecured, and zero-coupon securities.

PKN ORLEN owns approximately 85% of the registered capital of Anwil.
