PKN ORLEN Supervisory Board appointed Mr Piotr Chelminski to the Company’s Management Board

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. (“PKN ORLEN”, “Company”), announces that the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN, following its meeting on 6 March 2012, has appointed Mr Piotr Chelminski to the position of the Member of PKN ORLEN Management Board responsible for Petrochemical Operations, effective from 10 March 2012.

At the same time the Company’s Supervisory Board agreed for holding by Mr Piotr Chelminski a position in the Board of Directors of Unipetrol a.s. (“Unipetrol”), PKN ORLEN’s subsidiary, without the right to remuneration.

Mr Piotr Chelminski

He was entrusted with the post of Chairman of Board of Directors and CEO at Unipetrol on 10th December 2009. He has accumulated years of experience holding various positions on the management boards of Polish and other foreign-owned companies, including listed companies.

2001 – 2006 member of the Board of Directors, member of the Supervisory Board – direct operational supervision of Sales and Marketing, Kamis-Przyprawy S.A. (leader in the Polish seasoning and species market)
2001 – 2002 member of the Board of Directors, member of the Supervisory Board, Werner & Merz Polska Sp. z o.o. (manufactures products in cleaning, care and conservation)
1999 – 2001  member of the Board of Directors, Browar Dojlidy Sp. z o.o. (brewery)
1996 – 1999 regional director for CEE region, Eckes Granini GmbH & Co. KG (fruit beverages) and President of its subsidiary Aronia S.A.
1995 – 1996 vice-chairman for sales, marketing and export, Okocimskie Zaklady Piwowarskie S.A. (brewery)

Education:

1995-1996 University of Management and Marketing in Warsaw (Partner of the University of Denver in USA) postgraduate course in management
1985-1991  University of Agriculture in Warsaw

Mr Piotr Chelminski has declared that upon joining the Management Board of PKN ORLEN he will not be involved in any activity that competes with PKN ORLEN; will not be a partner of any competing company; and will not be a member of any board of a competing incorporated company. Mr Piotr Chelminski also declared that he is not on the List of Insolvent Debtors kept on record on the National Court Register Act.
