Predicted accounting one-offs which impact significantly financial data for 2022 presented in PKN ORLEN and ORLEN Capital Group financial statements for 2022

PKN ORLEN S.A. („Company”) informs that it predicts that following accounting one-offs, which significantly affected the financial data for 2022 will be included in consolidated financial statement for 2022:

- recognition of an impairment on fixed assets of the Refinery segment in PKN ORLEN S.A. with a total net value of approximately PLN (0.4) billion,

- recognition of an impairment on fixed assets of the Upstream segment in PKN ORLEN S.A. with a total net value of approximately PLN (0.6) billion,

- recognition of an impairment on fixed assets of the Refinery segment in AB ORLEN Lietuva with a total net value of approximately PLN (1.1) billion,

- recognition of an impairment on fixed assets of the Refinery segment in ORLEN Unipetrol with a total net value of approximately PLN (0.6) billion,

- recognition of an impairment on fixed assets of the Petrochemical segment in ORLEN Unipetrol with a total net value of approximately PLN (0.1) billion,

- recognition of an impairment on fixed assets of the Upstream segment in the EXALO Drilling Group with a total net value of approximately PLN (0.3) billion,

- recognition of reversals updating the value of fixed assets of the Upstream segment in the ORLEN Upstream Group with a total net value of approximately PLN 0.2 billion.

 

Moreover in the separate financial statement for 2022, the Company predicts to include the following one-offs that have a significant positive impact on the financial data for 2022:

 

- recognition of reversals of impairments on shares in ORLEN Upstream Sp. z o. o. with a total value of approximately PLN 0.5 billion,

- impairment on shares in other entities of the ORLEN Group with a total value of approximately PLN (0.1) billion related to the impairment of shares in AB ORLEN Lietuva and shares in the EXALO Drilling Group.

 

Impairment of the above-mentioned net assets results mainly from changes in the macroeconomic environment, changes in the discount rate, key legal acts included in the package of regulations aimed at counteracting excessive increases in electricity and natural gas prices and the Windfall Tax applicable in the Czech Republic.

 

PKN ORLEN will publish its separate and consolidated financial statements for year 2022 on 28 April 2023.
