Mr Tomasz Sójka resigned from the position of ORLEN Supervisory Board Member

ORLEN S.A. (“Company”) announces that on 9 February 2024 Mr Tomasz Sójka submitted resignation from the position of ORLEN Management Board Member with the effect on February, 16th 2024.

Justification for resignation provided by Mr Tomasz Sójka is presented below:

“In reference to media articles about me in connection with my appointment to the position of the member of ORLEN Supervisory Board I would like to inform about my resignation.

My historical connections with SMM legal office, that I left in 2018, as well as my further social activity in Poland 2050 movement are publicly known. In January this year the Ministry of the State Assets approached me with a proposal to candidate to ORLEN Supervisory Board. At the same time, during a hearing by the Council on State-Owned Companies, I discussed in detail my competence as a law professor and explained the nature of my historical relations with SMM law office, as a result of which my candidacy to ORLEN Supervisory Board was positively reviewed and further on I was appointed by the Ministry of the State Assets as a candidate to ORLEN Supervisory Board.

In connection with the misunderstandings appearing in the media space around my person I have decided to resign, as the good of the Company and its stakeholders requires it. My resignation is effective on February, 16th due to the need for the Ministry of the State Assets  to complete the Supervisory Board and the need to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the Company.”
