Characteristics
Paraxylene is a product derived from the Parex Plant, which is part of the Paraxylene Complex. The high-purity product is obtained by selective adsorption from a mixture of hydrocarbons, consisting mainly of C8 aromatic isomers.

Application
Paraxylene is used to produce terephthalic acid.
