ORLEN signs gas supply contract with Naftogaz
ORLEN has signed a contract with its Ukrainian partner, Naftogaz, for the supply of 300 million cubic metres of natural gas from the US in the first quarter of 2026. The deal follows an agreement concluded between the companies during the Transatlantic Partnership for Energy and Climate (P-TEC) Summit, held in Athens in early November 2025.
“Only a several days passed between the signing of the letter of intent and the conclusion of the final contract. During that time, we refined all the contractual details and obtained the necessary corporate approvals. This swift process would not have been possible without mutual trust and a clear understanding of each party’s needs and objectives. The cooperation between our companies enhances the region’s energy security while creating conditions for further business development and strengthening market positions on both sides,” said Robert Soszyński, ORLEN’s Vice President of the Management Board for Operations.
“We continue to diversify our gas supply sources and routes to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience. This year, as part of our cooperation with ORLEN, 600 million cubic metres of American LNG will be delivered to Ukraine. Overall, in 2026 we expect US LNG imports to reach 1 billion cubic metres. I am grateful to our Polish partners for their trust,” said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
Under the contract, ORLEN will supply Naftogaz with gas sourced from three cargoes of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) during the first quarter of 2026. The transaction is concluded on an arm’s length basis. ORLEN will be responsible for sourcing and delivering the commodity. Leveraging its own LNG carrier fleet and reserved regasification capacity, the Company is positioning itself as a significant player in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market. Building on a diversified and flexible gas procurement portfolio, ORLEN is consistently expanding its footprint across the Central and Eastern European region.
Since the launch of regular commercial cooperation with Naftogaz in 2025, ORLEN has already sold 600 million cubic metres of gas to Ukraine. The newly signed contract further strengthens the partnership between the two companies and may serve as a foundation for future agreements.
