ORLEN seeks AI partners, open to large technology companies and innovative R&D firms
ORLEN has launched a search for technology partners to help develop and deploy AI solutions. The request for proposals (RFP) process is open to companies and organisations in the AI sector with experience in developing and implementing artificial intelligence-based solutions. For technology companies, particularly Polish ones, this represents an opportunity to participate in large-scale projects and collaborate with one of the largest corporate groups in the region. The initiative aims to accelerate ORLEN’s digital transformation and strengthen Poland’s advanced technology ecosystem.
“AI is already changing the way the world’s largest companies operate. At ORLEN, we want to use AI to improve efficiency, speed up decision-making and develop new business models. That is why we are looking for partners with hands-on experience in deploying AI solutions. We are particularly keen to work with Polish technology companies whose expertise and solutions can compete globally. We want this ecosystem to strengthen ORLEN’s competitiveness while also building Poland’s AI capabilities,” said Robert Soszyński, Vice President of the ORLEN Management Board, Operations.
ORLEN is looking for partners with experience in technology consulting, systems integration and the development of specialised AI products, models and solutions. The planned framework agreements are expected to give the ORLEN Group faster access to specialist expertise and streamline the rollout of AI projects across various business areas.
The RFP seeks partners with expertise in generative artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced data analytics, data science, mathematical modelling and the deployment of AI in corporate environments. ORLEN is particularly interested in partners with experience applying AI in sectors relevant to the Group’s business, including Energy, Downstream, Upstream and Corporate Functions. ORLEN is open to working with both large companies and smaller organisations specialising, for example, in research and development (R&D).
“AI projects at ORLEN address real business and operational challenges, so we are looking for partners with hands-on experience in working with data, integrating systems and deploying solutions in large organisations. We also see significant potential among Polish technology and research and development companies. Working with the ORLEN Group could give them the opportunity to take part in large-scale projects, build a track record and develop expertise in AI and data analytics,” said Michał Furman, Executive Director for Digital Transformation and IT.
The RFP was preceded by the ORLEN IT Supplier Forum, held in Katowice in May as part of the Energy Partners of Tomorrow programme. Several hundred representatives of IT and technology companies from across Poland met ORLEN representatives to discuss the Group’s IT plans, procurement processes and formal requirements for suppliers. The programme is intended to help Polish companies prepare for ORLEN procurement procedures and improve their chances of working with Group companies.
