Summer with ORLEN in Pomerania
For many years, ORLEN has been actively engaged in social, sports, and cultural initiatives supporting the residents of Gdańsk and the Pomeranian region. As part of these efforts, the Summer with ORLEN project was implemented.
Summer with ORLEN is an initiative that provides children with a variety of activities during the summer holidays, including cultural, musical, and sports programmes. Until recently, the project was dedicated mainly to groups from Płock and the surrounding areas. In 2024, for the first time, it was extended to include the Pomeranian region.
As part of the project, a diverse range of developmental activities was prepared for more than 200 children and young people of various ages. Participation in the day camps was free of charge and open to all, allowing every child to take part regardless of their family’s financial situation. Within the Summer with ORLEN initiative, children could choose from a range of activities tailored to their interests. For young football enthusiasts, the Ogniwo Sopot Football Club organised daily football training sessions. The AZS COSA sports centre in Górki Zachodnie offered day camps focused on water sports, where children developed their skills and gained new experiences in sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking. The Wykrzyknik Play Academy also offered activities focused on environmental protection and animal care.
In total, more than 1,100 children from Płock and Gdańsk participated in this year’s Summer with ORLEN day camps.
