The Witold Lutosławski Płock Symphony Orchestra

The Witold Lutosławski Płock Symphony Orchestra, sponsored by ORLEN, is a dynamic cultural institution whose concerts attract nearly 50,000 listeners annually. The Orchestra presents performances featuring world-renowned artists such as Szymon Nehring – the only Polish pianist to have won first prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv – as well as events dedicated to the youngest audiences.

For children, the Orchestra organises the Musical Encounters with the Orchestra concert series, where young listeners can hear stories about music, learn about instruments, experience the orchestra’s distinctive sound, and even try their hand at conducting.

For senior audiences, the Płock Symphony Orchestra hosts Musical Mornings for Seniors. Friday mornings at the Orchestra are far from ordinary – this is when the most important rehearsal takes place, the final run-through before the evening concert. For seniors, it is an opportunity to see – and most importantly, to hear – how professional musicians prepare for a performance. These sessions provide insight into the inner workings of a symphony orchestra, the vital role of the conductor, and the chance to engage with distinguished artists.
