ORLEN Upstream North Africa B.V. (OUNA), headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands is a subsidiary of the ORLEN Group. Established on 4 February 2008, the company operates in Libya through its Libya Branch located in the Janzour district of Tripoli.
In 2008, the company entered into an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), covering Exploration and Production License 113 (approx. 5,500 km²) in the Murzuq Basin, southwestern Libya. In 2013 and 2014 the Company achieved two hydrocarbon discoveries within EPSA / License 113 in the Murzuq Basin, confirming the area’s strong exploration potential.
Safety remains a key priority. OUNA works in close coordination with the NOC and continuously monitors the operating environment to ensure secure and responsible operations.
