“ORLEN as a Good Neighbour” at the International Day of Scouts
Our Company took part in a bivouac organized by the Scout Brotherhood of the Flag - a team operating in the Stara Biała Municipality - on the occasion of the International Day of Scouts and Guides as part of the “ORLEN as a Good Neighbour” programme. To celebrate the Brotherly Thought Day, nearly 200 scouts from Poland, Turkey, Ukraine and the UK came to the municipality from February 23 to 25.
The main element of the event was an urban field game that took off from under the Scout Mound in Płock. Among its goals was to popularize the history of the city and the region. The role of interpreters and guides in Płock was played by students of the IB (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) class, of the Władysław Jagiełło High School with Bilingual Branches in Płock. The game ended with a holy mass.
During the dozens of hours of fraternity festivities, many friendships and acquaintances were born. There was joint singing, games and a candlelight party. The Brotherly Thought Day is a special time when scouts remember all the friends, colleagues, and acquaintances they have met somewhere on the trail. Scouts make their wishes known during this time. They all share a special bond of respect for nature, fidelity to the principles of scouting and brotherhood.
For all the scouts, the Company, as part of the “ORLEN as a Good Neighbour” programme, funded gifts that will help them safely continue their further treks. In addition, ORLEN provided drinks and sweet snacks during the event.
The project was implemented as part of the “ORLEN as a Good Neighbour” programme, which is designed to benefit local communities living near ORLEN facilities and investment sites. The Stara Biała Municipality has been covered by this programme because the New Chemistry Project is being developed within its boundaries.
