As part of this recruitment round, we are looking for solutions that address the challenges defined by the Consumer & Products area. The call for applications began on March 23 and will continue until April 12 of this year.
Challenge list:
We are looking for innovative solutions that enable the development of new, automated retail formats at ORLEN fuel stations. The goal of the challenge is to identify technologies and business models that can generate new revenue streams through automated or unattended sales formats.
Solutions may include modern vending machines, autonomous retail points, unmanned micro-stores or other forms of self-service sales offering food products, beverages, convenience items or other product categories. We are looking for both hardware solutions and digital platforms supporting the management of such retail formats, which can be tested in the fuel station environment.
We are looking for innovative concepts and technologies that enable the development of self-service foodservice areas at fuel stations. The goal of the challenge is to increase the attractiveness of the food offering and reduce service time by allowing customers to prepare selected products themselves.
Solutions may include “build-your-own” stations, salad bars, topping stations, semi-automated meal preparation systems or other self-service food concepts. We are looking for formats that enable active customer participation in meal preparation while remaining easy to maintain in terms of quality and safety standards required in the fuel station environment.
We are looking for innovative solutions that enable the storage and display of food products under controlled temperature conditions, both chilled and heated, in the form of modern shelves, lockers or other compact devices.
The goal of the challenge is to identify technologies that maintain the proper temperature of ready-to-sell products in a “grab & go” model, improve customer experience, and support the development of new foodservice formats. We are looking for solutions more advanced than traditional refrigerators or heaters, including smart temperature control systems, product monitoring, display management, or integration with sales systems.
We are looking for a solution that enables automated measurement of parking time in designated parking spaces at ORLEN fuel stations. The goal of the challenge is to improve parking space utilization, increase infrastructure efficiency, and introduce a transparent and automated way of communicating parking time to customers.
The system should automatically detect parking space occupancy and display parking time information using outdoor displays (e.g., LED), adapted to environmental conditions. Once a space is occupied, the system should show a decreasing free parking time, followed by an increasing paid parking time after the free period expires.
The challenge includes solutions that enable:
- automatic detection of parking space occupancy and release,
- clear presentation of parking time to users (e.g., via LED displays),
- use of AI technologies for vehicle identification (e.g., brand, color, license plate) for operational purposes,
- recording of parking duration data and support for settlement processes,
- potential integration with sales systems or customer-facing applications.
We are looking for both hardware and digital solutions (AI, computer vision, IoT) that can be deployed and tested in real fuel station environments.
We are looking for innovative technological solutions that support the development, automation and operational optimization of car wash facilities within the ORLEN network. The goal of the challenge is to identify technologies that increase cost efficiency, improve service quality, ensure operational continuity, and enable new models of management and monetization of car wash services.
We are looking for solutions that covers a broad range of functional areas, including but not limited to:
- management of infrastructure availability and utilization (e.g., monitoring of car wash operations, queues, and operational statuses),
- automation of customer service and settlement processes (e.g., parking systems, subscription models, integration with applications),
- optimization of resource consumption (water, energy) and development of recovery and reuse solutions,
- improvement of energy efficiency (e.g., floor heating systems, temperature management, ventilation and drying of facilities),
- increasing infrastructure durability and reducing the impact of environmental factors (humidity, corrosion, algae),
- centralized systems for real-time management and monitoring of car wash networks,
- tools supporting operational data analysis, settlements and SLA enforcement,
- solutions enhancing safety and service availability, especially in winter conditions.
We are looking for both hardware and digital solutions (software, AI, IoT) that can be deployed and tested in a real operational car wash environment.
We invite startups and technology companies whose solutions address all or part of the defined challenge scope.
We are looking for solutions leveraging advanced analytics to support the management of fuel station offer attractiveness, taking into account location-specific factors such as operational data, customer traffic and the competitive environment.
The implementation of the solution aims to increase the number of visits and improve sales performance by identifying untapped location potential and enabling the execution of data-driven optimization actions.
The system should include the following functionalities:
- analysis of customer traffic, station load and purchasing behavior,
- analysis of the competitive environment (offer, pricing, promotional activities),
- identification of untapped potential at the location level,
- recommendation of optimal product assortment tailored to the location,
- recommendation of pricing levels in relation to local competitors,
- identification of actions that increase footfall and station attractiveness (e.g. offer adjustments, promotions, layout changes),
- support for operational and commercial decision-making through analytics and predictive models.
We are looking for solutions that can operate as analytical systems, decision-support platforms or recommendation engines supporting the management of fuel station networks.
We are looking for solutions leveraging advanced data analytics to automate the process of handling and settling claims related to expired products at fuel stations.
The solution aims to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs by automating the processing of refund claims based on system data and supplier agreement terms for specific product categories.
The system should include the following functionalities:
- automated analysis of expired product claims based on sales and inventory data,
- translation of supplier contract terms into decision rules and analytical models,
- automated decision-making regarding refund eligibility and calculation of refund amounts,
- improvement of data quality and consistency by reducing errors resulting from manual processing,
- automation of communication and information flow between involved departments,
- reduction of processing time, enabling faster disposal of expired products,
- support for reporting and cost analysis related to product expiration.
We are looking for solutions that can operate as analytical systems, decision-support platforms or workflow tools supporting operational and financial processes.
We are looking for solutions leveraging advanced analytics to support category management, promotion planning and market trend identification in retail environments.
The solution should improve the effectiveness of sales and promotional activities by utilizing advanced data analytics, automating decision-making processes, and providing fast access to up-to-date information on market dynamics, competition and consumer behavior.
The system should include, among others, the following functionalities:
- planning and optimization of promotional campaigns (product selection, promotion mechanisms and pricing levels),
