We are increasing the share of the circular economy within the ORLEN Group’s value chain by utilising and transforming some of our waste into fully-fledged products, in accordance with the waste management hierarchy set out in the ORLEN Group’s Circular Economy Policy.
As part of ORLEN Termika’s operations, the range of combustion by-products – which are construction products: TERMOKRUSZ, TERMASZ and ProAsh – has been expanded to include mineral plant growth enhancers produced from biomass ash: FloraTerm and AgroTerm.
In 2025, ORLEN Termika S.A. became the first major manufacturer in Poland to obtain approval from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development to market mineral fertilisers produced entirely from the bottom or fly ash fractions resulting from the combustion of forest and agricultural biomass at the Siekierki Combined Heat and Power Plant. As a result, farmers will gain access to a valuable raw material generated during the energy production process, and these initiatives serve as an example of the development of new, circular business opportunities.
