CIFAL Centre opened today in Plock
East European Training Centre for Local Authorities opened today in Plock
Today, Marcel A. Boisard, Deputy General Secretary of the United Nations and General Director of United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) opened the CIFAL Centre for CEE Local Authorities in Plock. He was accompanied by Miroslaw Milewski, President of the Municipality of Plock; Collin Glennie, United Nations Development Programme representative in Poland; as well as representatives from the Foundation for Sustainable Development of European Regions and Veolia Environment.
The Plock based centre will focus on workshops and sustainable development training, combining social, business and environmental initiatives. The CIFAL Centre in Plock plans to establish a network of authorities sharing their experience in different areas. To date, UNITAR has opened 10 centres of this kind all over the world, four of which are located in Western Europe.
