One card, two systems, many possibilities
A new, combined ORLEN / DKV fuel card will soon open up European retail fuel markets to PKN ORLEN customers, who will gain access to non-cash purchases across the continent's largest service network. Today's contract between PKN ORLEN and DKV Euro Service will enable drivers to utilize a dual-system card as early as mid-2004.
First of all possibilities
The ORLEN / DKV co-branded card is the first of its kind in Europe to combine microchip technology from PKN ORLEN's FLOTA Polska card and a magnetic-strip system from the DKV international network. Thanks to the built-in microchip, drivers can purchase fuels, goods and services from the PKN ORLEN network and each transaction can be monitored via the web. In addition, every card can have individual transaction limits settled.
On the other hand, the magnetic stripe on the reverse side of the card will enable the purchase of fuels, automotive accessories, as well as payments for extra travel services such as tolls for roads, motorway bridges and ferries, tyre services and service for refrigeration trucks and other specialty vehicles outside Poland at any service point, bearing the DKV logo. One of the advantages offered by a dual card is a prompt return of the VAT tax from international transactions made by the clients of the FLOTA programme together with the current transaction bill. Those customers that do not use the Net Invoicing Program can wait up to six months for an invoice depending on which country the transaction took place.
Simplicity first of all
Receiving a DKV / ORLEN card requires little formality. The financial security of the transaction made with the co-branded card is set up individually, which allows adjustment of the card to a customer's individual needs. After signing the agreement a customer is given one code to access the FLOTA and DKV systems. Such a solution guarantees complete transaction security. The new system is tailored to corporate clients, who can clear all the transactions with one payment and receive an aggregate list of transactions made with the card.
FLOTA POLSKA at a glance
The FLOTA POLSKA card programme is aimed at business customers operating fleets of vehicles, regardless of the number of cars or fuel consumption. FLOTA is recognized at 1,570 fuel stations in Poland with over 120,000 active cards in use. The ORLEN fleet cards allow for the non-cash purchase of fuel, goods and services at the country's largest retail network. Out of two types of cards offered within the programme, the 'S' type Card is issued for a specific vehicle registration number whereas the 'K' type card is issued in a driver's name. For the customer's convenience, cards are loaded with individual limits for the fuel volume as well as products and services' value.
DKV Card at a glance
The DKV Card system is accepted at more than 20,000 service stations in 40 countries in Europe and North Africa. More than 700,000 cards are used by over 70,000 customers and over 40,000 trade partners. This gives drivers access to a DKV Mobile Service which guarantees facilities such as vehicle repairs, emergency towing and tyre services as well as fast accident assistance across Europe. In addition, drivers are offered a DKV Non-Stop Service to pay for motorways, tunnels and ferries.
