Mazeikiu Nafta - exporter of the year 2006
The Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists has made awards at its annual conference to the Lithuanian companies which have made the most significant contribution to the growth of national exports in 2006. Mazeikiu Nafta received the title of “The Best Lithuanian Exporter 2006.”
Compared to 2005, exports increased by 18.4% in 2006 and amounted to more than LTL 38.81 billion. As in previous years, Mazeikiu Nafta has made one of the greatest contributions to Lithuania’s exports – sales of our products accounted for 23 percent of total Lithuanian exports. Last year, our revenues from sales outside Lithuania increased from LTL 8.7 billion to LTL 8.96 billion. Our largest market remained the USA for gasoline, and Western Europe (France, Spain, and Iceland) for diesel.
Our jet fuel has been highly valued by consumers in Iceland in recent years – we are the major supplier of fuel to Keflavik International Airport, which services not only the domestic airlines but also aircraft operated on the routes between North America and Europe. The other major customer of our company is BP Oil International, which supplies our jet fuel to the Swedish Air Force.
