PKN ORLEN in the 19th World Petroleum Congress

PKN ORLEN will participate in the 19th World Petroleum Congress and the accompanying exhibition that will take place between June and July in Madrid. The corporation will set up a booth in the exhibition hall to present its operations.

The 19th World Petroleum Congress is the largest and most prestigious meeting of the fuel industry in the world, organized every three years in a different part of the world. This year it will take place between June 30 – July 3 in Madrid.

The Congress will be officially opened by His Majesty Juan Carlos I, King of Spain. Participants will include the government representatives of oil-producing countries (including Algeria, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Russia, Iran, Great Britain, Columbia and Saudi Arabia), UN, OPEC, representatives of global fuel corporations, petrochemical industry organizations and associations, and delegates of academic communities. Over 300 companies, including PKN ORLEN, will open their booths in the exhibition accompanying the Congress.

The Congress’s agenda includes seven plenary sessions (presentations by government representatives and oil corporations) as well as technical sessions, divided into themes.

The organizer of the event is the World Petroleum Council, comprising 60 countries, each (including Poland) represented by a National Committee. The first Congress of this type took place in London in 1933.
