ORLEN an Ambassador of the Polish Economy

PKN ORLEN has been awarded the title of an Ambassador of the Polish Economy in the “European Brand” category in the second edition of a competition organized by the Business Centre Club under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The organizers have deemed ORLEN a company promoting Poland on the international arena as a reliable economic partner. The company has also contributed to the economic growth of the country and builds confidence towards Poland and its inhabitants.

During the competition PKN ORLEN presented its international achievements related to the management of businesses operating on the Central European markets.

- We joined the competition aware of the meaning attached to the promotion of our brands in Europe. It is our aim to use our business and social activity as a tool for boosting the positive image of the Polish economy and our country as a whole. Our corporation’s success not only improves the image of the ORLEN brand, but promotes Poland on the international market as well - said Jacek Krawiec, President of the Board of PKN ORLEN.

The main objective of the nationwide competition is to award entrepreneurs succeeding on international markets, promote good business practices, enhance cooperation between entrepreneurs and representatives of Polish institutions in charge of the promotion of the Polish economy, culture and social initiatives. During this year’s edition of the contest the jury has selected 55 winners from throughout Poland in the four following categories: Exporter, Foreign Company Partner, European Brand and Creator of 21st Century Solutions.

The Business Centre Club was established in 1991. It is a prestigious club of entrepreneurs and Poland’s largest individual employers’ association. The BCC has received, from the European Parliament, the EKES award for its considerable contribution to the promotion of European integration and identity. Honorary BCC members include, inter alia: José Manuel Barroso, Leszek Balcerowicz, George Bush, Jerzy Buzek, Jacques Chirac, Bill Clinton, Janusz Lewandowski, Margaret Thatcher, Władysław Bartoszewski and Lech Wałęsa.
