ORLEN wins the Best Managed Company in Poland title
Already for the fifth time PKN ORLEN has won the coveted title of the Best Managed Company in Poland, in the ranking published by prestigious financial monthly Euromoney. The ranking was compiled by independent experts in the fields of finance and management, who were asked to nominate the best managed CEE companies.
The results of the seventh edition of the Best Managed Companies in Central and Eastern Europe, prepared by prestigious UK magazine Euromoney, were revealed on May 6th in London.
In its yearly survey, Euromoney asks independent financial analysts, experts at banks and research institutes, as well as professionals in the fields of finance and management from the entire CEE region, to indicate their top companies from individual countries. The expert evaluation of the leading companies’ business strategies forms the basis for the ranking, whose winners receive the title of best managed company in a given CEE country.
- Best CEE Companies are ranked by market analysts, who keep track of PKN ORLEN’s activity and have the most accurate idea of its value. The best managed company in Poland title is a token of expert recognition for PKN ORLEN’s growth strategy. The fact the we have topped Euromoney’s ranking every year since 2008 confirms that the development strategy we adopted for the years of economic downturn is still proving its merit now that the market climate has improved - said Jacek Krawiec, President of PKN ORLEN’s Management Board.
Once again, experts at Euromoney have singled PKN ORLEN out for the best and most coherent business strategy in Poland, as evidenced by the Best Managed Company in Poland title. The Company has won it for the fourth consecutive time, and for the fifth time since the ranking’s inception.
- The distinction is all the more important now that we have entered the second stage in our development, involving evolution towards a multi-utility model. The award from Euromoney is a confirmation that independent experts think highly of the Company’s activity to date and of the continuation of its management formula for another term - added Mr Jacek Krawiec.
The Best Managed Company in Poland title is one of the many tokens of recognition for the Company’s activities in recent months. At the end of 2010, rating agency Moody’s upgraded PKN ORLEN’s rating outlook, highlighting our solid financial performance. PKN ORLEN was also the highest ranking Polish firm in the Platts TOP250 Global Energy Companies list and the winner of the WarsawScan 2011 survey, which ranks companies in terms of the quality of their information policy and compliance with corporate governance standards. In addition, ORLEN emerged as the winner of the Most Valuable Polish Brands list, published by the Rzeczpospolita daily. Also for the second time, ORLEN passed the mark to be listed as part of the prestigious RESPECT index of companies which adhere to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Euromoney is a prestigious magazine concerned with the European financial markets and the best known title of London-based publishing house Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. Since its inception in 1969, Euromoney has focused on international capital markets. Last year, the magazine celebrated its 40th anniversary.
