New contract between ORLEN Lietuva and Klaipedos Nafta

Today in Vilnius, ORLEN Lietuva, a member of the ORLEN Group, signed a new contract with the Lithuanian seaport Klaipedos Nafta, concerning reloading of petroleum products. The contract will continue in force until the end of 2024. On behalf of the companies the contract was signed by Ireneusz Fąfara, CEO of ORLEN Lietuva, and Rokas Masilius, CEO of Klaipedos Nafta.

ORLEN Lietuva is the largest business partner of Klaipedos Nafta. Klaipedos Nafta has transported products of the ORLEN Group’s Lithuanian subsidiary since 2000. In the first ten months of 2011 alone, 3.2 million tonnes of ORLEN Lietuva’s products were handled at the seaport. During the entire 2010, ORLEN Lietuva reloaded 3.2 million tonnes of light petroleum products and 1.5 million tonnes of heavy petroleum products at the Klaipeda terminal.

- The new contract solves a major logistic problem we have been grappling with on the Lithuanian market for some time - said Jacek Krawiec, President of the Management Board of PKN ORLEN.

- I hope that this long-awaited contract will lay foundations for good cooperation between ORLEN Lietuva and Klaipedos Nafta - Mr Krawiec added, commenting on the contract execution.

Rokas Masilius, Klaipedos Nafta’s CEO, has emphasised that the contract provides for cargo handling terms that are favourable to both parties.

- We held constructive talks with ORLEN Lietuva during which we were able to recognise each other’s needs and expectations. As a result, we reached an agreement favourable to both parties. The contract gives Klaipedos Nafta a reliable business partner for the next 13 years Mr Masilius emphasised.
