PKN ORLEN has already brought some 15 million face masks to Poland

PKN ORLEN has just imported another batch of nearly 3 million disposable face masks to Poland. Purchase of personal protective equipment is an important part of the ORLEN Group’s strong commitment to support the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are taking every opportunity to help Poles deal with this difficult time of pandemic. We are increasing our purchases of personal protective equipment for those who are the first line of defence in protecting the health and lives of Polish people. The measures we are taking are comprehensive. We are also providing financial support and necessary medical equipment to health care facilities and uniformed services,” says Daniel Obajtek, CEO and President of the PKN ORLEN Management Board.

So far, the company has purchased 15 million protective masks. The first batch of about 3.7 million masks arrived in Poland several weeks ago and another 8.3 million were imported last week. They ensure safety of those directly involved in the fight against the pandemic and are used to meet the ORLEN Group’s internal needs. The batch of nearly 3 million masks which arrived in Poland today will also be used to support the government’s efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus in Poland.

Altogether, PKN ORLEN has earmarked more than PLN 100m for the fight against the pandemic. In the first place, the company offers its support to medical facilities, uniformed services, and care home residents and staff.
