ORLEN and Naftogaz expand cooperation to bolster Ukraine’s energy security and support its energy transition

ORLEN and Naftogaz have signed two memoranda laying out a framework for their further collaboration in areas critical to Ukraine’s energy security and long-term energy transition. Under the MoUs, the parties will cooperate in LNG trading, use of regasification and transmission infrastructure across the Baltic Sea and CEE regions, as well as the exchange of expertise in sustainability, decarbonisation, sustainable transition financing and ESG governance.

ORLEN advances strategic Baltic Eagle Gas Hub project

ORLEN has reserved regasification capacity at the FSRU 2 terminal to be launched in the Gulf of Gdańsk. This decision will enhance the flexibility of LNG supplies and strengthen the energy security of Poland and the wider region, while supporting the development of the Baltic Eagle Gas Hub concept. With FSRU 1, FSRU 2 and capacity reserved at the Klaipėda LNG terminal, accessed via the Santaka interconnector, the ORLEN Group will be able to import more than 16 bcm of natural gas annually (after regasification).

50 turbines installed in the Baltic Sea as ORLEN nears completion of Poland’s first offshore wind farm

Fifty of the 76 turbines planned for the Baltic Power offshore wind farm have now been installed. Poland’s most advanced offshore wind project has entered its final phase of construction. Critical infrastructure testing is underway and preparations are in progress to begin supplying electricity to the national grid. Developed jointly by the ORLEN Group and Northland Power, Poland’s first offshore wind farm will generate approximately 4 TWh of electricity annually, enough to meet around 3% of the country’s current power demand.

ORLEN opens its seventh hydrogen refuelling station, located in Gdynia

ORLEN has opened its seventh publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling station in Poland. Located at ul. Wielkopolska 239 in Gdynia, the facility serves passenger cars, buses and trucks. The investment marks another milestone in the expansion of Poland’s hydrogen infrastructure, supporting the development of low-emission transport and the implementation of the ORLEN Group’s hydrogen strategy.
