ORLEN accelerates its LNG expansion: more deliveries, stronger fleet and growing import capacity

2025 was a record-breaking year for the LNG segment in Poland. Shipments of liquefied natural gas received by the ORLEN Group at the Świnoujście terminal amounted to 81 – up by 20 compared with the previous year. The total volume of seaborne LNG imports reached almost 6 million tonnes, representing an increase of 30% year on year.

ORLEN strengthens offshore wind position as Baltic East wins URE auction

The ORLEN Group has reinforced its position in the offshore wind sector after the Baltic East project won an auction for offshore wind farms conducted by the President of the Polish Energy Regulatory Office (URE). The outcome represents a major step towards expanding renewable energy capacity and strengthening the security and stability of Poland’s energy system.

First turbines with Polish-made nacelles installed at the ORLEN Group's offshore wind farm

Next 15 MW turbines have been installed at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, including the first three equipped with Polish nacelles manufactured at the Vestas plant in Szczecin. The investment developed by ORLEN Group and Northland Power is currently the most advanced offshore wind farm project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. The first megawatt-hours of electricity from the wind farm are expected to be delivered as early as next year. It is estimated that Polish entities will account for over 20% of the total value of the project throughout its 30-year operational lifespan.

Seabed surveys completed for the ORLEN Group’s next offshore wind farm

For nearly four months, preliminary seismic and geotechnical seabed surveys were carried out across the Baltic East offshore wind project area by three specialist units from a consortium of Polish companies: ORLEN Petrobaltic, Geofizyka Toruń and MEWO. During the campaign, a team of qualified researchers, technicians, and operators completed over one thousand kilometres of seismic lines, along with numerous soundings and boreholes. The data collected will enable ORLEN Neptun to develop the next key stages of the project.

Power from the Baltic draws nearer: key component installed at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm

Baltic Power, a joint venture between ORLEN and Canada’s Northland Power, has completed the installation of two offshore substations, each weighing 2,500 tonnes. These are a key element of Poland’s first offshore wind farm and will collect the electricity generated by the turbines and transmit it to shore. Parts of both substations were manufactured at facilities in Gdynia and Gdańsk.

ORLEN secures PLN 3.5 billion from the National Recovery Plan for offshore wind development

In line with its strategy, ORLEN is consistently expanding low- and zero-emission generation capacities, materially strengthening the energy security of Poland and the wider region. A key pillar of these efforts is investment in offshore wind. To advance these projects, the Group has secured PLN 3.5 billion from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) under agreements signed with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).

ORLEN strengthens hydrogen capabilities in Pomerania with expert advisory support for Amber Hydrogen Valley

The Amber Hydrogen Valley project, launched by ORLEN in collaboration with more than 30 domestic and international partners, has been selected to receive expert advisory support through Project Development Assistance Plus (PDA plus) services coordinated by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. The support, covering technical, commercial and regulatory expertise, will help optimise project development costs and guide the project through steps needed to reach final investment decision (FID).
