Fifty of the 76 turbines planned for the Baltic Power offshore wind farm have now been installed. Poland’s most advanced offshore wind project has entered its final phase of construction. Critical infrastructure testing is underway and preparations are in progress to begin supplying electricity to the national grid. Developed jointly by the ORLEN Group and Northland Power, Poland’s first offshore wind farm will generate approximately 4 TWh of electricity annually, enough to meet around 3% of the country’s current power demand.

All foundations installed as Baltic Power moves closer to completion

The installation of all 78 foundations, called monopiles, has been completed at Poland’s first offshore wind farm. More than 20 vessels, along with 500 crew members and contractor representatives, have been involved in the offshore construction campaign. Baltic Power, a joint project between the ORLEN Group and Northland Power, is now progressing to its next phase. Electricity generated in the Baltic Sea is set to be supplied to the grid by the end of this year.

ORLEN accelerates its LNG expansion: more deliveries, stronger fleet and growing import capacity

2025 was a record-breaking year for the LNG segment in Poland. Shipments of liquefied natural gas received by the ORLEN Group at the Świnoujście terminal amounted to 81 – up by 20 compared with the previous year. The total volume of seaborne LNG imports reached almost 6 million tonnes, representing an increase of 30% year on year.

ORLEN strengthens offshore wind position as Baltic East wins URE auction

The ORLEN Group has reinforced its position in the offshore wind sector after the Baltic East project won an auction for offshore wind farms conducted by the President of the Polish Energy Regulatory Office (URE). First turbines with Polish-made nacelles installed at the ORLEN Group's offshore wind farm

Next 15 MW turbines have been installed at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, including the first three equipped with Polish nacelles manufactured at the Vestas plant in Szczecin. The investment developed by ORLEN Group and Northland Power is currently the most advanced offshore wind farm project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. The first megawatt-hours of electricity from the wind farm are expected to be delivered as early as next year. It is estimated that Polish entities will account for over 20% of the total value of the project throughout its 30-year operational lifespan.

Seabed surveys completed for the ORLEN Group’s next offshore wind farm

For nearly four months, preliminary seismic and geotechnical seabed surveys were carried out across the Baltic East offshore wind project area by three specialist units from a consortium of Polish companies: ORLEN Petrobaltic, Geofizyka Toruń and MEWO. During the campaign, a team of qualified researchers, technicians, and operators completed over one thousand kilometres of seismic lines, along with numerous soundings and boreholes. The data collected will enable ORLEN Neptun to develop the next key stages of the project.
