Dialogue with local government representatives on the construction of the New Chemistry Complex
In 2024, a series of public information meetings was held with residents of Płock and Płock County on the construction of the plant. The ORLEN experts and the main contractor provided the residents attending the meetings with all the information they needed to answer their questions. They also presented literature, including the environmental and social standards and documents on which the investment project is based.
The meetings included discussions on the Project Impact Assessment, the Stakeholder Engagement Plan, the Social Impact Assessment and the Human Rights Impact Assessment. Residents attending the meetings also learned about the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment Report under the Environmental Information and Protection Act, public participation in environmental protection, and environmental impact assessments. Social-oriented activities carried out in Płock County and in Płock were also discussed. Issues related to compliance with environmental standards were discussed by the Environmental Protection Office managers, while those related to on-site safety standards came from the Occupational Health, Safety and Production Coordination Department. A special contact form has been set up on the New Chemistry project implementation website to ensure that all messages, questions and complaints about the project, especially from people representing the local community, are answered. This form was presented at the meetings.
