PKN ORLEN to continue supporting Robert Kubica and remains in Formula 1 next season

Following Robert Kubica’s termination of his contract with ROKiT Williams Racing, PKN ORLEN – as declared earlier – will also terminate its sponsorship of the team after this season’s end. However, PKN ORLEN will continue to partner with Robert Kubica and will also maintain its presence in Formula 1, building the brand’s global recognition.

PKN ORLEN to support local community initiatives under ‘My Place on Earth’ programme

​The ORLEN GIFT FROM THE HEART Foundation has invited applications for the second edition of ‘My Place on Earth’, a programme designed with local communities in mind. Applications for grants supporting community initiatives may be submitted by NGOs and local government institutions from all over Poland by September 9th 2019. The amount allocated this year for what is PKN ORLEN’s largest grant scheme is PLN 2m.

PKN ORLEN to promote health among Płock and Płock county residents

​PKN ORLEN is set to implement a programme that will help residents of Płock and the wider Płock county to monitor their health and to prevent and treat diseases. The health promotion project will be partnered by the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Institute – Oncology Centre in Warsaw and the Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Institute, which have signed a letter of intent to that end with PKN ORLEN.

Best concepts from across the globe to support innovation at PKN ORLEN

PKN ORLEN has announced the winners of its crowdsourcing contest, the first global project of that scale launched by a Polish company. From among proposals submitted by companies, universities and research centres from all over the world, the best three solutions were selected. The winners are from Poland, India and Germany. The winners each received prizes of EUR 10,000 and were invited to discuss further cooperation with PKN ORLEN. In accordance with the objectives of the contest, the selected concepts are to improve the energy efficiency of production processes at the PKN ORLEN refinery.

ORLEN acquires Kicking Horse Energy

Today, PKN ORLEN, through its upstream segment subsidiary ORLEN Upstream Canada Ltd, has completed the acquisition of all of the outstanding common shares of Kicking Horse Energy Inc. a Canadian oil and gas company. The Kicking Horse assets significantly increase the exploration and production portfolio of ORLEN in the Western Canada, adding approximately 4100 boe/d to current production and 30 million barrels of hydrocarbon resources (2P).
