Dynamic business model

The operating model of the ORLEN Group presents a synthetic and illustrative overview of the flow of goods and services. It includes the processes involved in sourcing products and raw materials essential to the Group’s trading, production, and sales operations. The diagram below illustrates the flows within the ORLEN Group’s newly established segments, as presented in the ORLEN 2035 strategy.

Upstream & Supply

The Upstream & Supply segment’s operating model covers the sourcing of raw materials through import and own production, their internal distribution between the Group segments, and the sale of products and services to third parties.

Downstream

The Downstream segment’s operating model includes purchases of raw materials and finished products, supplemented by internal transfers from other Group segments, and the distribution and sale of products and services, both to third parties and within the Group.

Energy

The Energy segment’s operating model involves the use of purchased products and raw materials and renewable energy sources, supplemented by internal supplies from other Group segments, and then their distribution on external markets as well as the sale of products and services to third parties and within the Group.

Consumers and Products

The Consumers & Products segment’s operating model involves the sourcing of products and raw materials both from within the Group and from external suppliers, and their sale on domestic and international markets

ORLEN’s ecosystem

We are building an integrated, cohesive and digital organisation in which each business line complements the others, enabling us to deliver products and services aligned with customer expectations. The transformation of our traditional operations will fuel the ORLEN Group’s expansion into new growth areas, establishing a diversified business model more resilient to market volatility.

Our commitment to be pursued across this ecosystem is to reduce CO₂ emissions through a number of measures, such as developing expertise in sustainable raw materials, hydrogen, biofuels, and small-scale nuclear generation (SMRs). By 2030 we will have fully phased out coal-based energy production, and by 2050 we aim for net zero carbon.
