Sports sponsorship

We support professional sports and promote physical activity among children and young people. Through sponsorship of leading athletes, sports committees and associations, as well as international sporting events, we build the global recognition of the ORLEN brand. We also encourage physical activity from an early age, contributing to the development of healthy lifestyle habits.

ORLEN as the Strategic Sponsor of Polish handball

Under an agreement with the Polish Handball Federation (ZPRP), ORLEN serves as the Strategic Sponsor of Polish handball. The partnership covers sponsorship of the men’s and women’s national teams across all age categories in both indoor and beach handball, as well as the ORLEN Men’s Polish Cup and the ORLEN Women’s Polish Cup. The ZPRP also implements training programmes such as We Play Handball, aimed at children in grades 1–3 of primary school, and the Handball Training Centres for children in grades 4–8.

Under an agreement with the Polish Basketball Association (PZK), ORLEN serves as the strategic partner of Poland’s men’s and women’s national basketball teams in both the 5x5 and 3x3 formats, as well as the Title Sponsor of the country’s top professional women’s and men’s leagues – ORLEN Basket. As part of the partnership, the Company supports 16 junior national teams, youth training programmes, and the national wheelchair basketball teams.

ORLEN has been a sponsor of the Polish Athletics Association (PZLA) since 2010. The ORLEN brand has for many years accompanied Polish athletes and has been featured in the titles of major athletics events held in the country, including the Polish Championships organised both in outdoor stadiums and indoor arenas. ORLEN supports individual athletes, including Anita Włodarczyk, a three-time Olympic champion, and Paweł Fajdek, a five-time world champion.

ORLEN is the Main Sponsor of the Tour de Pologne – a race that is part of the UCI World Tour, ranked among the five most prestigious cycling events in the world, and which celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2023. The competition is one of Poland’s most distinguished sporting events, attracting the world’s leading professional teams and riders. In 2024, after an eight-year break, the Tour de Pologne Women was reinstated.

ORLEN as the sponsor of Polish volleyball

Since 2012, ORLEN has been actively engaged in the development of Polish volleyball, supporting both the men’s and women’s senior national teams in indoor and beach volleyball, as well as the youth national teams. In recent years, Polish volleyball players have achieved remarkable success, winning World Championship titles in 2014 and 2018, and European Championship titles in 2009 and 2023. In 2023, the men’s national team won the Nations League, while the women’s team secured third place. At the Olympic Games in Paris, the team led by Nikola Grbić claimed silver medals, marking the first Olympic podium finish for the Polish volleyball team in 48 years.
