Paraxylene is a product of the Parex Plant. The product is obtained by selective adsorption from a mixture of hydrocarbons, consisting mainly of C8 aromatics isomers.
Paraxylene is used for manufacturing purified terephthalate acid (PTA) and dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), which are used for manufacturing polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyester fibres, polyamide fibres and films.
